The successful and much coveted iPhone, Apple's phone, secretly records all movements of the user and stores this information in a file 'hidden', denounced two security experts quoted by the BBC today.
Registration is done on iPhones with the operating system IOS 4 as well as in iPads 3G, said Alasdair Allan and Pete Warden, the latter a former Apple employee.
The file created automatically by the devices, called 'consolidated.db', notes a list of geographic coordinates related to the date and time. With the 'software' appropriate, experts say, is very easy to overlay this information on a map and see exactly where the phone carrier walked.
The Guardian newspaper, which was the first to come up with the news, he writes that neither the iPhone nor the iPad give any information visible that this information is being recorded.
Also according to the BBC, apparently the file is not sent to Apple. However, says the Telegraph, this is copied to any computer used to synchronize information (such as telephone calls or emails).
Apple has not yet reacted to this news, but reminds the BBC, the user agreement that all customers have to sign when you activate your device allows the collection of this information.
